About the course
This course is designed to teach people to become HSE recognised first aiders in the workplace. The course is run over three consecutive days. On the afternoon of the third day there is a two hour assessment on both theory and practical aspects of the course. The assessment will be done by an independent assessor who will assess the competence of each learner following a set assessment criteria.

By the end of the training delegates will be able to:
1. By the end of the training learners will be able to demonstrate competence in CPR related practical activities.
2. By the end of the training learners will be able to demonstrate competence when dealing with an unconscious casualty.
3. By the end of the training learners will be able to demonstrate competence when dealing with wounds and bleeding.
4. By the end of the training learners will be able to demonstrate competence a choking casualty.
5. By the end of the training learners will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a first aider.
6. By the end of the training learners will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a range of injuries and illnesses likely to be dealt with by a first aider
